Detailed Itinerary in 8 Days Tanzania and Congo Safari
Day 1: Pick up and drive to Ngorongoro Crater
Your guide will meet you at your hotel in Arusha, and you will start your safari to the Ngorongoro conservation area where you will enjoy more wildlife viewing experiences. You will descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater where you will search for wildlife species like lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, hyenas, jackals, hippos, zebras, herds of wildebeests.
You will also see attractions such as Lake Magadi where you will see a variety of birds such as flamingos as well as other wildlife species grazing in the nearby plains. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Karatu Tented Lodge.
Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner
Day 2: Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, your guide will drive you to Serengeti National Park. You will have lunch in the national park and later you will engage in an afternoon game drive around Serengeti national park.
You will search for different wildlife species during your game drive such as the big 5 and many others during your safari. After your game drive, you will return for your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full day Serengeti National Park
You will have an early breakfast ahead of the full day wildlife viewing activity as you explore Serengeti national park. During the morning game drive, you will search for wildlife species like hyenas, zebras, impala, serval cats, and many other species. You will also have lunch as you prepare for another game viewing adventure in the afternoon.
During your afternoon game drive in Serengeti national park, you will look out for a variety of wildlife and bird species such as elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, antelopes, zebras, rhinos, buffalos, hippos, cheetahs, elands, waterbucks, kudus, lions, leopards, impalas, gazelles among others. You will have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Drive to Arusha
You will have an early breakfast and your guide will drive you back to Arusha. Check in at the hotel, relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay at Tulia Boutique Hotel.
Day 5: Fly to Kigali Rwanda, Kigali City tour
After breakfast at the hotel, you shall be driven to the airport for your flight to Kigali Rwanda. Upon your arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you shall be picked up and tranfsreed to ypur hotel of stay. Depending on your time of arrival, you shall enjoy a Kigali City tour visiting the Rwanda Genocide Memorial, Caplaki craft village, Inema Arts Centers, and Kimironko Craft Village to mention but a few. Dinner and overnight stay at Step Town Hotel.
Day 6: Pick-up and cross to Bukavu
Our company representative-guide/driver will pick you up and cross the border into Bukavu the Democratic Republic of Congo. On arrival at Bukavu, nearest town to Kahuzi Biega, advance to your lodge for lunch and relax for the rest of the evening. You can opt for a tour of Bukavu town along with your driver guide if you wish. Dinner and overnight stay at Cormoran Hotel
Day 7: Lowland gorilla trekking – Cyangungu
After enjoying your breakfast at the lodge, drive to the park headquarters for about 45 minutes for briefing about the Eastern lowland gorillas. You will then set off to your fascinating experience of the lowland gorillas in the valleys of Kahuzi as you encounter different mammals, birds and primates. It’s usually a 1-6 hours’ experience of the jungle, depending on their movement while watching them interact/play with each other as you take photos and videos
You will then descend back and meet up with your driver back to your hotel for Dinner and overnight at Cormoran Hotel as night before.
Day 8: Departure
Have early morning breakfast and head back to Kigali where your driver guide will drop you off at any hotel of your choice or at Kigali international Airport. You can opt for a city tour in Kigali where you can visit places like Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, Note that your Rwanda Visa expires immediately you cross into Congo so you will have to reapply for another while at the border and find it ready after the tour.
