13 days Tanzania and Zanzibar safari is a tour during which you will visit Tarangire national park, the Ngorongoro crater, Serengeti national park, Lake Manyara national park and also enjoy a holiday on Zanzibar island.

During the tour, you will engage in game drives across the different national parks in the northern part of Tanzania and also engage in a cultural tour with the Maasai. While on Zanzibar island, you will visit the historic stone town, relax at the beach and also enjoy a safari blue tour

Day 1; pick up and drive to Tarangire national park

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and welcome you and brief you about your safari. You will be driven to Tarangire national park which is also found in the northern part of Tanzania. Tarangire national park is known for having large herds of elephants as well as ancient baobab trees.

You will have lunch and also engage in an afternoon game drive around Tarangire national park. During your game drive in the national park, you will look out for wildlife species such as gazelles, impalas, zebras, waterbucks among others as well as the various bird species which this national park is known for. Your guide will drive you to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Baobab tented lodge.

Day 2; full day in Tarangire national park

After early breakfast at your lodge, you will engage in a morning game viewing experience in Tarangire national park. During your morning game drive the national Park you will search for various wildlife species such as elephants, zebras, hartebeest, waterbucks, gazelles, Oryx and others.

You will have another game drive in the afternoon to experience the wilderness of the national park and to look for other wildlife species while enjoying the beautiful scenery. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Baobab tented lodge.

13 days Tanzania and Zanzibar safari — Tarangire National Park wildlife

Day 3; drive to Ngorongoro crater

Breakfast will be served at your lodge as you prepare for your transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area. After having your lunch you will descend into the crater and you will visit Lake Magadi which is found in the center of the crater. You will also search for various wildlife species such as elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras as well as flamingos along the shores of Lake Magadi. As you enjoy the beautiful scenery of Ngorongoro, your guide will drive you to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s tree inn.

Day 4; drive to Serengeti national park

On Day 4 of your 13 days Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, after breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you to Serengeti national park which is also located in the northern part of Tanzania. You will enjoy searching for wildlife species such as the big 5 during your safari in the national park.

You will have lunch after checking in your lodge in Serengeti national park. You will also engage in a game drive to search for wildlife species such as zebras, lions, buffalos, elephants, giraffes, elands, impalas, antelopes among others. Dinner and overnight will be at Serengeti heritage luxury tented camps and lodges.

Day 5 and Day 6; full day in Serengeti national park

You will wake up early your lodge in Serengeti national park as you prepare for your morning game drive. You will also enjoy searching a variety of wildlife species which are very active during the morning in the vast savannah plains as you search for elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, cheetahs, giraffes among others.

After your morning game drive, you will have lunch and later engage in another game drive and enjoy looking out for wildlife species grazing in the open savannah of Serengeti national park like elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, impalas, gazelles, buffalos, elands, antelopes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos among others. You will have dinner and overnight at Serengeti heritage luxury tented camps and lodges.

Day 7; drive to Lake Manyara national park

Breakfast will be served at your and after breakfast, your guide will drive you to Lake Manyara national park. Lake Manyara national park is known for its tree climbing lions and another unique feature about this national park is that about two thirds of the national park is covered by water. You will also enjoy views of the rift valley escarpment during your safari in the national park.

After check in at your lodge in Lake Manyara national park, you will have your lunch and later engage in a game drive and search for wildlife species such as giraffes, elephants, impalas, hippos among others. You will have dinner and spend the night at Twiga lodge.

Day 8; Maasai cultural tour at Olpopongi

After breakfast at your lodge, you will be driven to Arusha and proceed for a Maasai experience at Olpopongi where you will interact with the Maasai people and get to know more about their culture. You will also enjoy a traditional lunch during this experience after which you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Tulia boutique hotel and spa.

Day 9; flight to Zanzibar

After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, you will be driven to Arusha airport flight to Zanzibar. On arrival in Zanzibar, you will be picked up from the airport and driven to your hotel for check in. You will spend the rest of the day relaxing at the hotel where you will have dinner and overnight at Flame tree cottages.

Day 10; Stone town tour

On the 10th day of your 13 days Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will have breakfast at your hotel in Zanzibar as you prepare for a Stone town tour during which you will enjoy exploring the alleyways of the town as you get to know about the history of Zanzibar and its different cultures. After visiting Stone town, you will spend the rest of the day relaxing at the beach and you will have dinner and spend the night at Flame tree cottages.

Day 11; Safari blue excursion

You will enjoy the best boat tour on the Zanzibar island is which is a truly amazing experience sailing in the beautiful traditional Dhows. You will enjoy a boat ride, enjoy delicious buffet and drinks, fresh tropical fruits and snacks, snorkeling and also visit Menai Bay. After the experience, you will be driven back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Flame tree cottages.

Day 12; beach experience

You will enjoy a day relaxing at the beach and taking in the beautiful views of the Indian ocean after having breakfast at your hotel. Dinner and overnight will be at Flame tree cottages.

Day 13; departure

You will have breakfast at your hotel as you prepare for your transfer to the airport which will bring your safari to an end.
