Southern Serengeti National Park Accommodations
Southern Serengeti National Park Accommodations : The south of Serengeti National Park is covered in vast short-grass plains that extend northward into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the south-west Loliondo, and Maswa Game Reserve. Like the woodlands surrounding Lake Ndutu, there are occasionally small kopjes that are home to healthy resident game populations. However, much of this land is open and level, with the exception of these permanent animal oasis. From late November to April, it is teeming with grazing wildebeest, while the remainder of the year can be quite deserted. Accommodations available here include:
Ndutu Safari Lodge
Ndutu Safari Lodge offers a view of Tanzania’s Ndutu Soda Lake. It was constructed by a former hunter in the 1960s and rebuilt in 1985, Although the lodge is officially located on the northern edge of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, it provides a Serengeti experience in essence. Between December and April, when the plains are lush and green from the rains, the wildebeest migration typically travels through this area.
The northern portion of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the short-grass plains of the southern Serengeti can be explored from the affordable and convenient Ndutu Safari Lodge. Nevertheless, due to its excellent position and excellent pricing, it is highly booked during the wildebeest migration. To guarantee a spot here, you might need to make reservations a year or more in advance.
Kusini Camp
Kusini Camp, a posh permanent tented camp with twelve tents, is situated atop a kopje in a secluded and serene area of Tanzania’s south-west Serengeti. There are plenty of opportunities to witness animals, and lions and buffalo are frequently spotted near the camp. Despite the short duration of our most recent visit to Kusini, the ambiance was warm and the staff was friendly. Although the tents’ furniture and design are somewhat straightforward, they yet exude comfort and luxury. Note that there were a lot of tsetse flies around, although they weren’t very troublesome once you were inside the camp’s structures.

Olakira Camp
Olakira Camp, also known as Olakira Mara or Olakira Ndutu, depending on where it is, is a semi-permanent tented camp that moves twice a year between two locations within Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, roughly matching the densest part of the wildebeest migration at that time. Olakira is a cosy, fashionable, and intimate little camp that allows you to truly feel like you are in the bush without sacrificing amenities like flush toilets and hot showers.
