Gates found in Udzungwa Mountains National Park : The Udzungwa Mountains National Park is one of Tanzania’s most outstanding and exciting wilderness areas, with unique wildlife species inhabiting this range of forests. Udzungwa Mountains National Park was established in 1992. The park was formed from five forest reserves established in 1950s. The park is mostly located in Kilolo District. It has a size of 1,990 sq.km and encompasses of tropical rainforest, mountain forest, miombo woodland, grassland and steppe.  Udzungwa is a primate park and there are 12 species of primate, including three found nowhere else in the world (the Sanje Mangabey, the Iringa Red Colobus and the Kipunji). Udzungwa is home to approximately 400 species of bird, many of which are endemic to the area. The park is treasured for the high level of biodiversity of birds and animals. Lundazi Gate

The Lundazi Gate located near the northeastern section of the park, the gate is less frequented and is perfect for those seeking solitude in nature. Visitors to this entrance can explore the surrounding lush forest, famous for its rare endemic plant species. The quite trails here provide an intimate experience of the areas’ diverse ecosystems.

The Kigogo Gate is situated on the eastern edge of Udzungwa Mountains national park, the gate offers access to various trails, including those leading to rich montane forest that are home to numerous species of primates.
