Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
Your Uganda safari guide shall pick you from the airport or hotel in Entebbe, welcome you for the safari and brief you about the same. Thereafter, you shall proceed for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You shall make a stopover at the Equator as well as a lunch stop en-route. You will then continue to your lodge in Bwindi national park where you will check in and spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight will be at Buhoma Haven Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
After an early breakfast, you will carry a packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a ranger guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas and also conversant with different gorilla trekking trails. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi can take anything from 2-7 hours or more depending on the location of the gorillas.
During trekking you will be able to view other primate in Bwindi Impenetrable national Park, bird, plants among others. Once you encounter the mountain gorillas, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to observe their behaviors, watch them as they go about their daily activities like feeding, playing, breastfeeding, grooming young ones and much more. Take photos and record videos, as many as you wish.
After the one hour encounter with the gentle giants, you will drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight as above.
Day 3: Batwa Cultural Experience
Wake up at leisure, enjoy breakfast and then head out for a Batwa cultural experience. The Batwa are the early indigenous local people that inhabited the Bwindi Impenetrable Rainforest and co-existed with the wildlife therein. The Batwa, also known as short people shall have you experiencing their way of life, doing various activities like before, say making fire with stone or sticks. Dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 4: Drive to Entebbe
On the last day of your safari, you will have breakfast at your lodge and then check out. You will continue your journey to Entebbe with a stop in Mbarara where you will have a stop in Mbarara for lunch. You will proceed to Entebbe. Check in at the hotel, relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay at Best Western Hotel.
Day 5: Fly to Tanzania
After breakfast at the hotel, you shall proceed to Entebbe International Airport for your flight to Tanzania. Upon your arrival in Tanzania, you will be met by your Tanzania safari guide. He will welcome you to Tanzania, brief you about the safari and transfer your hotel of stay in Arusha. Dinner and an overnight stay at The African Tulip Arusha.
Day 6: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
You shall transfer to Serengeti National Park which is a wildlife viewing destination famous for the big 5 such as elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalos as well as many other wildlife species. Drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying lunch en-route.
After lunch, enjoy game viewing as you drive through the Serengeti to your lodge of stay. Your dinner and overnight will be at Mara River Camp by TBC
Day 7&8: Full day in Serengeti National Park (Northern Serengeti)
You will wake up for a morning game drive around Serengeti national park in search of different wildlife species such as lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, elephants, wildebeests, antelopes, hippos, giraffes among others, along the Mara River area. You will have lunch after your morning game drive around the national park. Chance to witness the great wildebeest migration at its best.
Look out for more wild game as you return to your lodge where you will have dinner and spend the night as above.
Optional Activity: Hot air balloon Ride
Day 9: Central Serengeti Game Drives
On this day, you shall get to explore the central plains of Serengeti National Park, following the Seronera River where more and more animals in Serengeti National Park converge as they look to have a dip or drink. Enjoy game drives in the park punctuated with a picnic lunch stop along the way.
Day 10: Departure
After breakfast at the camp, meet your Tanzania safari guide for your transfer to Arusha with your lunch enjoyed en-route. You shall be dropped off at the airport in time for your flight, or hotel in Arusha, bringing your safari to an end.
