6 Days Uganda Tour is an amazing adventurous Uganda safari tour that takes you to the forested areas of western Uganda, in Kibale National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. You will get to enjoy hiking one of the most scenic mountains in Uganda, Mount Sabinyo, enjoy gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park as well as chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park.

Detailed Itinerary of 6 Days Uganda Tour

Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park

Drive Time: Approx. 8 hours

On this very first day, you will leave Kampala and drive to Kisoro where Mount Mgahinga Nationl Park is located. This Mount Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is the smallest in size compared to the rest of Uganda’s national parks and it covers just about 33.7km. This park is located in a mountainous areas therefore it is largely covered by mountains, making part of the Virunga Massifs.  You will have lunch en route somewhere at the place of your choice and then proceed to Kisoro. As you drive through that hilly area, enjoy the beautiful scenery of western Uganda. When you arrive in the evening, you will check in at the hotel of your choosing, then have dinner and rest as you wait for tomorrow’s adventure. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Chahafi Resort for Mid-range.

Day 2: Hike Mount Sabinyo

You start the day with breakfast at the lodge and then drive to the starting point for briefing before you start hiking Mt. Sabinyo which is about 3669m high up in the sky. This hike takes almost 8 hours if you are to enjoy this amazing hiking experience. During this hike, you will get the chance to enjoy a triple experience since you will be Uganda, Dr. Congo and Rwanda at the same because this mountain is shared by the 3 countries. From the peak of the mountain, you will have an amazing view of the mountain slopes. Later in the day, you will slope down and spend the night as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park, Optional Batwa Pygmy Visit 

On the third day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy stunning views of the terraced farmlands, Kigezi hills, traditional homesteads, crater lakes among others. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Bakiga Lodge.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle that takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking, you will enjoy spectacular views of primates like l’hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, animals, plants, bird species among others. Once the gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, breastfeeding, playing, take photos and record the moments to show people back home.

After the exciting moment with the mountain gorillas you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide to go for an optional cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa, learn about their culture, way of living, visit their homesteads, enjoy their cultural performances among others. After the cultural tour, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National Park, Bigodi Swamp Walk

After breakfast, proceed to Kibale national park. On the way you will enjoy spectacular views of the local people, farmlands, traditional homesteads, Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations among others. You will have en-route lunch in Fort Portal and then embark on an interesting nature walk in Bigodi swamp where you will be able to view different primate species, birds, mammals, and plant and tree species among others. After the swamp walk, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Guest House

Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park, Departure

After an early breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyanchu Visitors Centre for chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the forest in search of the chimpanzees which takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on their location because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat that gives you an opportunity to learn more about their life style, behaviors, watch them feed, play, hunt, fight, take photos and record videos with a flash less camera. After the one-hour encounter with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and return to the lodge for lunch.

Proceed to transfer back to Kampala, for a drop off at the hotel or airport of stay. This will end the safari.
