Wakati Tented Camp is well known as Wild Wakati Camp. It is a luxury accommodation situated deep in the central part of Serengeti National Park, specifically in the remote areas of the Togoro Plains, Tanzania. The camp is surrounded by untamed wilderness, in a perfect position to encounter the great wildebeest migration with extensive wildlife.

How to get to the camp

 One can be at the camp by taking approximately a 6-hour drive from arusha town to Serengeti national park and a 1-2-hour flight from arusha to the close Seronera airstrip, then a 40 minutes transfer to the camp.  The camp is convenient and business-friendly to tourists and travelers who want to visit the park with its stunning views and wide range of animals.

About THE LODGE

Wakati Tented Camp consists of 8 comfortable and spacious en suite tents, including 2 family suites that overlook beautiful views and reflect a traditional building style while providing a high level of comfort.

The tents are well decorated, elevated on raised platforms, and furnished with en-suite facilities that include a clean flushing toilet, a bathroom with hot and cold water, a safari bucket shower, solar energy, mosquito nets, tables and chairs, free toiletries, complimentary bottled water, and other amenities.

-Tents have verandas and sitting areas overlooking the spectacular view over the wilderness, wildlife migrating and surrounding areas.

-Tents are equipped with excellent clean and washed bedding with queen- and king-sized beds that vary in size, with single beds for individuals and double/twin for sharing, as well as family rooming options.

 The camp features crackling fireplaces where guests can relax and share stories and experiences from their safari; these fireplaces also provide warmth during the nights and on cold days.

 Services while at the camp

A dining tent that serves different menus of both continental and local cuisine that meet guests’ appetites.  The camp offers a continental breakfast, picnic lunch, and separate dining areas; it also provides outdoor and indoor dinner options, including bush barbecue dinners served by welcoming staff.

You can have bush breakfasts as you enjoy the morning sunrises and bush dinners overlooking the stars in the sky. During the evening, you relax on terraces/sundowners while overlooking the wilderness.

 Services include laundry and housekeeping services, Airport transfers and pickups since the camp is close to the airstrips, ample parking space available, walking night safaris and charging cables.

About the park

Serengeti  national  park  is  situated  in Tanzania  extending southern part  of Kenya / that’s  the Serengeti and  Mara ecosystem in simiyu region .  The park is among the popular and famous parks in Tanzania   covering   5700 square miles stretching north to Kenya and bordering Lake Victoria to the west.

June–October is the best period to be in Serengeti national park since it’s the dry season; it offers the best wildlife viewing when wildebeest are moving seeking pasture and water. It’s the annual migration of wild beasts.

The park contains over  70 big mammals like  Buffaloes , elephants, crocodiles, zebras, lions, leopards, Impalas , Giraffes , antelopes  mention but a few and 500 species of birds like; Flamingos , ostriches , grey breasted  spur fowl,  Kori bustard, secretary birds and many more  which enables more tourists to visit the park and stay for a long time.
